BE DIFFERENT, BE MPL
As Procurement Manager for the APAC-region, you will operate within the field of purchase of international transport and logistic activities, mainly focusing on sea freight. You will be responsible to find the best fitting solution keeping in mind different parameters such as customer demands, costs, efficiency, shippers of choice and so on. We expect you to develop a strong network for the entire region with support from the procurement team situated in the headquarters in Belgium. In your role, you will be responsible for the negotiations and evaluations with suppliers on a day-to-day basis and on a strategic level. All driven from a customer and supplier focused mindset, as you will operate as the ambassador for MPL. In this position you will directly report to our Global Procurement Manager and will work in one of the MPL offices in the APAC-region.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has at least 5 years of experience within sea freight logistics. Having a strong network in Asia and procurement experience in the maritime industry is essential. You are proficient in mathematics and can easily make connections. You are someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail. You are communicative and are fluent in English and Mandarin both in speaking and writing. You have strong negotiating skills and deliver excellent service towards your stakeholders who can be colleagues, suppliers, or customers. You can work fluently with various programs (e.g. Excel). You are eager to learn and not afraid to develop new things. You like to work independently and always with a positive attitude.
